Built for Retail
About

We have sat on the founder's side of the table.

Built for Retail is a full-service retail distribution agent: two people and a certified Melbourne warehouse. One of us runs retail and growth: the range-review cases, the buyer process, the numbers. The other runs Bettapak, the warehouse that ships every order. You deal with us, by name.

Four brands ranged as the agent across Chemist Warehouse, Woolworths, Coles and Priceline. One of the four is our founder's own, and it sits on our register of interests.

We build brands. Then we put them on shelves.

Distribution is the second half of our job. The first is the brand itself: positioning that survives a buyer's first question, identity and packaging that earn the second glance at shelf, and a price architecture that leaves margin for you and the retailer both. A weak brand in a strong review window is still a rejection.

We have rebuilt brands we then ranged, including Dr Pickles and Australian Glow, so the design work is done by the people who then have to sell it to a buyer and ship it from our own dock. That is the whole point of one contract: the brand, the case and the carton are never someone else's problem.

Operating principles

01

Commercial, not theoretical

If a recommendation cannot survive a spreadsheet, we do not make it.

02

Founder-level urgency

We understand the cost of a missed review window, a slow container and a warehouse of dead stock, because we have carried all three.

03

Across the whole journey

Getting ranged is one decision. Staying ranged is hundreds of decisions.

04

Built to execute

The delivery half of this company is a certified Melbourne warehouse that ships today.

Compiled from our trade tracking as at July 2026. Review windows move, vary by retailer and are confirmed to suppliers directly: check the current calendar with your buyer, or with us, before you plan production against a date. A window is an opportunity to present, not a promise of ranging: the buyer decides.

The register

Every interest on the table.

Both founders' outside ventures are listed on a register with categories named, published on this site before we take a founding client's first dollar. We never launch or own a brand in a category where we serve a client, and we don't pitch categories where either founder already holds one. Our lane is food, beverage and supplements; beauty is case by case with the register on the table first.

Operationally: a named account team, every access to your data logged, and an audit right written into your contract before you pay anything.

Questions

Asked about us, answered plainly.

What is Built for Retail?

Built for Retail is a full-service retail distribution agent in Melbourne, Australia, and a trading name of Bettapak. It builds consumer brands for the shelf and runs the operation that keeps them there: the commercial case, buyer representation and ranging, packaging and compliance, brand and packaging design, and fulfilment from a HACCP-certified warehouse in Dandenong South, all on one contract.

Who runs Built for Retail?

Two people. One runs retail and growth: the range-review cases, the buyer process and the numbers. The other runs Bettapak, the Dandenong South warehouse that has shipped for national food and sun-care brands since 2006. Clients deal with both, by name, and both founders' outside ventures are listed on a published register of interests.

Does Built for Retail build brands or just distribute them?

Both, in that order. Ranging a weak brand wastes a review window, so the brand work comes first: positioning that survives a buyer's first question, identity and packaging designed for the shelf, then the commercial case, the submission and the fulfilment that follows. Rebrands the team has delivered include Australian Glow and Dr Pickles, shown with each brand's consent.

What brands has Built for Retail ranged?

Four brands, ranged as the agent across Chemist Warehouse, Woolworths, Coles and Priceline: Dr Pickles, Smile Makers, Australian Glow and Frase Skin. Australian Glow is the founder's own brand and sits on the register of interests. Past rangings do not promise yours: the buyer decides.

How much does Built for Retail cost?

The Retail-Readiness Sprint is a fixed fee: $15,000 for a single-retailer scope, $25,000 multi-retailer. Representation is $4,000 per month. Fulfilment is quoted to your product and volume on an agreed rate card, and freight is carrier cost plus a disclosed 5 percent. No percentage of your retail revenue, and if a cost is not in your agreement, you do not pay it.

Where is Built for Retail's warehouse?

Dandenong South, Melbourne. The Bettapak facility has run since 2006, is HACCP certified, AFOSA and SEDEX audited, and was named E-commerce 3PL and 4PL Services of the Year in APAC 2026 by Retail Business Review. Every Built for Retail purchase order ships from this building.
