Two doors, one machine

The second door to the same shelf.

Australian DTC brands come through one door on their way to retail. International brands land through the other. Behind both is the same machine: the one that ranged four Australian brands, as the agent, across Chemist Warehouse, Woolworths, Coles and Priceline, now pointed at brands landing here.

We will not sell you an international track record we do not have. Those rangings were Australian brands into Australian retail. What an international brand buys is the same arithmetic, the same buyer process and the same warehouse, applied to your landing. The buyer still decides every ranging, and sometimes the honest answer is: not yet.

What lands with us

The retail half, run from Melbourne.

01

Labelling

Localisation to FSANZ

Your offshore pack audited against the Food Standards Code and localised: country-of-origin marking, the nutrition information panel, and PEAL plain English allergen declarations, each gap costed with a lead time before a buyer reads the pack.

02

Barcodes

GS1 verification

Numbering and symbology verified against the GS1 registry, print grades that scan first time at an Australian distribution centre, ITF-14 on the shipper. Retailer systems read the registry before they read your website.

03

The case

The buyer case for Australian retailers

Your range-review case argued in the buyer's own numbers: price architecture against the planogram, a defensible rate of sale position, and trade spend your margin can actually carry. We build the case. The buyer decides.

04

The pipe

EDI and delivery windows

EDI, the electronic ordering pipe every major retailer requires, stood up early because it takes months, not weeks. ASNs before every delivery, and every purchase order scheduled into its DC window.

05

Fulfilment

Shipped from our Melbourne warehouse

Your stock lands once, at Bettapak, our HACCP-certified warehouse in Dandenong South, and ships to every retailer from one building, on rates fixed on your scope sheet before you sign.

06

The arithmetic

The readiness verdict first

Before any of it, the Sprint models your trade spend, your pricing waterfall and your category's review calendar, so entering Australia is a decision made on numbers, not on a map. Sometimes the verdict is: not yet.

Honest limits

What stays with your advisers.

Plenty of this trade sells international brands a door-to-door promise. We name the halves instead. The import half of your landing, getting stock legally into the country, belongs to your customs broker and your advisers. The retail half, everything between the cleared container and the reorder, is ours.

The import half, named

We coordinate with your customs broker. We do not replace them.

  • Importer of record: your company, or the entity your advisers choose. Never us.
  • Customs clearance and tariff classification: your customs broker's lane. We align the freight plan with them so cleared stock meets the retailer's delivery windows.
  • GST and tax registrations: your accountant's lane.
  • DAFF biosecurity and quarantine for food: your broker and advisers run the permits and inspections. We plan the retail calendar around their clearance timelines.
  • Therapeutic goods: TGA-regulated categories are a specialist regulatory lane, scoped out to the consultants that territory requires before anything else starts.

If it happens at the border, it is your adviser's lane and we coordinate. If it happens between the warehouse and the shelf, it is ours.

The numbers

The arithmetic does not change at the border.

The numbers that decide an Australian ranging are the same for a brand from Austin or Amsterdam as for one from Adelaide. The Sprint models them for a fixed fee, $15,000 single-retailer scope or $25,000 multi-retailer, in about four weeks. Range reviews come around roughly every six months, with about two weeks' notice to present. And once orders flow, chargebacks commonly run 1 to 5 percent of invoice value when compliance fails, which is why the labelling and EDI work above is not optional.

Questions international founders ask.

Do we need an Australian entity before we start?

That is your accountant's and lawyer's call, and we do not give legal or tax advice. Some brands trade into Australian retail through a local subsidiary, others through their existing company; what retailers care about is that the trading terms, the importer of record and the tax registrations are settled, and your advisers own those decisions. We coordinate with them and run the retail half, the buyer case, the labelling localisation, the EDI and the fulfilment, against whichever structure they choose. If the structure question is still open, the Sprint is still useful: it tells you whether the arithmetic supports entering at all, before you spend on setup.

Who handles customs, GST and quarantine?

Your customs broker and your advisers, and we say that plainly rather than pretending to run it. Importer of record, customs clearance, GST at the border and DAFF biosecurity for food are their lanes. Ours is coordination: the freight plan is built with your broker so cleared stock lands at our Melbourne warehouse in time for the retailer's delivery windows, not a week after them. Therapeutic goods are different again: TGA-regulated categories go to specialist regulatory consultants, scoped before anything else starts.

How long until a first purchase order?

Retail runs on the category's calendar, not your launch plan. Range reviews come around roughly every six months, the invitation to present can arrive with about two weeks' notice, and after a win the first PO typically lands one to six months later. EDI takes months to stand up, not weeks, which is why the build starts early. Add freight and labelling localisation on the front for an international brand, and the honest planning unit is quarters, not weeks. Nothing guarantees the outcome: the buyer decides every ranging, and sometimes the honest verdict is: not yet.

Can you receive our freight?

Yes, once your broker has cleared it. Your stock lands at Bettapak, our warehouse in Dandenong South, Melbourne: HACCP certified, AFOSA and SEDEX audited, shipping for national food and sun-care brands today. From there we hold your inventory and ship every retail purchase order into its DC window, on fulfilment rates fixed on your scope sheet before you sign, with an audit right in your contract. If a number is not on the pricing page or your scope sheet, you do not pay it.
